Official inauguration of the exhibition "The Stupas around the world - their deep symbolism and meaning" with the participation of the Major of the Excm. Ayuntamiento de Benalamdena Don Enrique Moya and Lama Kempo Ngedon.

Shamar Rinpoche visited the Stupa and in the evening granted the Initiation of Mahakala to approximately 1300 people gathered on the Stupa premises.

The Major of the Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Benalmadena visited the Stupa shortly before the Initiation and met with Shamar Rinpoche, Lama Ole Nydahl and the members of the Board of Asociacion Cultural Karma Kayu de Benalmadena.

Inauguration of the new exposition in the exposition hall of the Stupa titled "The Profound Meaning of a Stupa" with the participation of the Mayor of Benalmádena Don Enrique Moya, Shamar Rinpoche and Lama Ole Nydahl.

2009

June 7th

His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje, Head of the Karma Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism visited the Stupa and gave to an audience of 1400 people from all over the world the Initiation on White Tara , the female aspect for Long Life and Will Power.The great event was also attended by high Lamas like Jigmela Rinpoche and Lama Ole Nydahl. The day 7th th of June was especially auspicious for buddhist all around the world: it was the anniversary of the historical Buddha Sakyamuni Enlightenment and Mahaparanirvana.

On June 7th we had also the pleasure to receive the visit of the Mayor of Benalmádena Don Enrique Moya.

Two tibetan high lamas: 4th reincarnation of Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche and his Father Beru Khyenste Rinpoche visited the Stupa. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche gave the Empowerment on the Buddha of Long Life "Amitayus" and Beru Khyenste Rinpoche gave the Empowerment on Buddha of Prosperity and Wealth "Dzambala".

Mipham Rinpoche and His wife Mayumla visited the Stupa and gave teachings about "The Four Basic Thoughts in Buddhism". Rinpoche also made wishes for everybody on the auspicious occasion of the New Year 2009.

Lama Ole Nydahl visited the Stupa and gave a talk at the Stupa site about " Love and Partnership in Buddhism" to approximately 1000 people.

June

H. H.The 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje visited the Stupa and gave at the Stupa site the Empowerment on the Diamond Mind in Union - Dorje Sempa Yab-Yum to aproximately 2000 people.

2006

June 10th

Display of a 15 meters x 12 meters big tanka, representing Guru Rinpoche with his two main Consorts: Yeshe Tsogyal and Mandarava and His Eight Emanations. The tanka, a unique masterpiece of tibetan religious art, was hand woven in silk during 2 years in the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Teachings on Buddhist Refuge by Mipam Rinpoche - one of the highest lamas of the Nyingma tradition of tibetan buddhism. Father of H.H. the XVII Gyalwa Karmapa Trinlay Thaye Dorje.

September

From the day of the Stupa inauguration in October 5th 2003 until September 2005 approximately 200.000 people from all over the world visited the Stupa.

Visit and public lecture by Lama Ole Nydahl at the Stupa.

Visit of H.H. Shamar Rinpoche at the Stupa and inauguration with the city Mayor Enrique Bolín Pérez-Argemí of a new exhibition of religious paintings (Tankas) and hand made bronze statues of different Buddha emanations brought from the Himalayan countries.

2004

August

Since August 2004 ar given open talks to the general public, on the introduction to the buddhist philosophy in the meditation hall of the Stupa. Every Sunday, late afternoon, a different topic is presented by a tibetan lama or a western buddhist teacher.

June

The Stupa was distinguished with 2 important prices on the 3rd edition of prices in the province of Malaga by theFinanciera y Minera Arquitectura Construccion de Malaga.
In the category of the most unique works done in Malaga the technical team led by architect Wojtek Kossowski was selected with the project of the Stupa for the 1st price.
In the category of economical development and social unique activities the 1st price from Malaga province was also granted to the Stupa.

June 10th

Visit of the monks from Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim (North India) who performed Lama Dances and conducted buddhist prayers in the meditation hall.

June 5th

Initiation on the Buddha Chenresig, the Loving-Eyes Buddha, given by H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa at the Stupa to 1.500 people.

First visit at the Benalmádena Stupa by H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinlay Thaye Dorje, the Head of the Karma Kagyu School of Buddhism.

Visit by H.H. Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche who during during His stay inaugurated together with the city Mayor Enrique Bolín Pérez-Argemí the first exhibition at the Stupa called "Buddhist Himalayas". The exhibition was open to the public for 8 months and thousands of visitors had the unique opportunity to get acquainted with the culture, traditions and religion from the countries of the "Roof of the World".

2003

October 5th

Final consecration ceremonies of the Stupa directed by H.H. Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche. More than 3.500 visitors from 38 countries attended the ceremony in Benalmádena including among others members of the Diamond Way Buddhism Organizations from Australia, Austria, Germany, Israel, Poland, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

20 Lamas from Lopon Tsechus Rinpoche Monastery in Kathmandu, Buddha Dharma Center, performed Lama dances, which express deep meditative states of mind.

October 4th

11:30 a.m. The official inauguration - cut of the ribbon by H.H. Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche with the Minister of the Kingdom of Buthan Lönpo Sangye Ngodup, his Excellency the Mayor of Benalmádena Enrique Bolín Pérez-Argemí and Lama Ole Nydahl.
